Easy start with the discovery of the Alcantara Valley. ETNA WALKING WITH WINE TASTING
Bus journey to Mount Etna. Starting point of the walking tour at Rifugio Citelli (1.900 m) to the craters of lava flows of Mount Sartorius. Continuing until reaching Piano Provenzana (1.900) and ascent to the new craters of the 2002 eruption at 2.450m height. FORZA D’AGRO AND SURROUNDINGS
Walking tour in the Agrò Valley, which is also the hidden place of the beautiful little Saint Peter and Paul Basilica. The little village of Forza d’Agro with its 1.050 inhabitants lies on a hill at approx. 400 masl upon the Ionic Sea.
LIPARI & VULCANO
Today you will leave Sicily’s mainland. You will depart by boat from Milazzo to the Eolian Islands. The closest island is Vulcano, an active volcano. The ascent to the Gran Cratere (approx. 400 masl) offers a view into the smoking crater, and a panoramic view on Vulcano and its neighbor islands.
The island of Lipari is only 1 km away, and is the main island of this island group. The small historical centre and its fortification invites you to a small stroll. Return by boat and bus to the hotel.
NATURAL RESERVE OF VENDICARI & SYRACUSE
The natural resort of Vendicari is situated at the south of Syracuse. This is where we walk of 2-3 hrs through an area of marshland which is famous for its birds, especially for migratory birds who stop here on their way towards and from Africa. After the walking tour, return journey towards north and stop at Syracuse for a stroll through its interesting historical center, situated on the island of Ortygia and linked with the mainland only by some bridges.
TAORMINA & CASTELMOLA
The little hill top village Castelmola lies upon Taormina. You discover the tiny characteristic village with its castle and its stunning view, from the strait of Messiina to the houses of Taormina, up to Mount Etna. The footpath leads then downwards to Taormina, where a visit includes the worldwide famous Greek-Roman Theatre. Enjoy some free time for shopping, or have a cup of Cappuccino in the piazza.
